Four rak’ah befor ‘Asr

Ibn Umar (may Allaah be pleased with them) said: the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“Allaah’s mercy be upon the person who prays four rak’ah before ‘Asr.” [1]

Allaamah al-Adheemabaadee says in ‘Awn al-m’abood his explanation of Sunan Abu Daawood:

‘…the aforementioned ahadeeth point to the recommendation of four rak’ah befor ‘Asr, and his (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) supplicating for mercy for the one who does so….’
