Saying Aameen After Imaam

Abu Huraira (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: the Messenger of Allaah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “If the recitor [the Imaam] says Aameen, then say Aameen, since the Angels say Aameen. For whoever’s saying of Aameen coincides with the Aameen of the Angels then his past sins forgiven.” 1

The hadeeth shows:

– the virtue of this deed

– that we shouldnt proceed the Imaam in saying Ameen, rather we say it when the Imaam starts to say it.

– that this is a recommended act to say Ameen for both the Imaam and the followers.
