SubhanaAllaah this great blessed time is here again.
Alhamdulillaah, the one who has given us this opportunity.
It is time to work, strive, ask, supplicate, cry, cry, cry…. (for all the sins)
Aisha said: “The Messenger of Allaah (sallaAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) used to strive hard in the last ten days, more than any other days.” [1]
And she also said: “When the last ten days started the Messenger of Allaah (sallaAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) used to stay up all night, and he would wake up his family, and he would tighten his waistband.” [2]
Imam Nawawi says in his Explanation of this hadeeth: ‘The scholars differed as to the meaning of ‘he would tighten his waistband’, it was said it means: ‘striving hard in acts of worship; more than his (sallaAllaahu ‘alayhi wasallam) usual customary amount of worship in other days’, meaning to be completly dedicated in worshipping.
And it was also said that it is a metaphor meaning to stay away from the women (intercourse) due to busying with acts of worship.’
upto where he said: ‘And in this hadeeth we benefit:
– It is reccommended to increase in acts of worship in the last ten days of the month of Ramadhan
– A reccomendation of staying awake all night by acts of worship.”
end of Imam Nawawi’s words.
