Ibn Bukayr said:
‘A man came to [Imaam] Maalik ibn Anas….’
And he said: ‘O, Abu Abdullaah; I saw a drunkard man jumping trying to grasp the moon!!
Thus I said to myself [making an oath]: ‘Let my wife be divorced if there is anything entering the stomach of a human which is worse than alcohol !!!’
So he [Imaam Maalik] said: ‘Let me look into this affair, so come back some other time.’
Thus the man came to him the next day.
But he [Imaam Maalik] said: ‘come back some other time; Let me look into this affair.’
Thus the man came to him the next day.
So he [Imaam Maalik] said to him:
‘Your wife is divorced!!!
Surely I went through the Book of Allaah & the Sunnah of His prophet: I did not see anything more worse than ribaa (usury), because Allaah announced war upon those who deal in it (ribaa)!!!”

Benefits & Inspirations from the story:
1. Always ask the scholars [of the sunnah] when you dont know.
2. The examplary conduct of the scholars who feared Allaah:
– they dont answer if they dont know.
– always going back to the Qur’an & the Sunnah.
3. The consummation of Ribaa is worse than alcohol.
May Allaah rectify our affairs.

Assalaamu alaykum,
This is not a fatwa, I am just informing you of what I know.
I have’nt read anything which equates pork to alcohol, as in that the seller, the buyer, the preparer e.t.c are all cursed. I dont know of a text that says that.
But I do know that it is haraam to sell pork. There are many ahadeeth on this. Bukhaari has a chapter in his saheeh which says: ‘Chapter: Killing the swine, and Jaabir said: the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) prohibited the sell of pigs.’
And Ibn Abbaas narrated that the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “Indeed when Allaah prohibits [consumption] eating of anything; He also prohibits its value.” [Musnad of Imaam Ahmad, authenticated by shaykh arnaaut].
