Following up on the recent post titled: ‘O Lord! Adorn him’, which is a great hadeeth detailing some of the immense rewards and delights awaiting the companion of the Qur’an, this is another beautiful and touching hadeeth (it always touches my heart subhanaAllaah); again detailing the great benefit of being a person of the Qur’an.
The hadeeth does not require much explanation inshaAllaah, but I would just like to remind:
1. those whose parents have passed away and are wondering what can I do for them,
2. and also those who cant do much -financially in this world- for their parents.
For both cases: This hadeeth is your direction. You can do so much. Yes You Can. Look at the expansive mercy and bounty of Allaah:
Buraydah (radhiyaAllaahu ‘ anhu) said: The Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘ alayhi wasallam) said:
“Whoever recited the Qur’aan, and studied it, and acted according to it: On the Day of Judgment his parents will be dressed with a crown of light; Its brightness is like that of the sun.
And his parents will be adorned with two bracelets; of which the whole world is not equivalent to them [in worth].
So they will say: ‘Why are we being adorned these?’
It will be said: ‘This is because of your child taking [the recitation, teaching, and acting upon] the Qur’aan.”
Narrated by al-Haakim who said it is upon the conditions of Muslim. In Saheeh Targheeb: 1434 Al-Albaani said it is (Hasan Lighayrihi).
O Allaah make us from the people of the Qur’an, Your Special one’s.
