Tafseer Suratul Mulk -1

Indeed Suratul Mulk is one of the great surahs of The Holy Qur’ân; from the ahadeeth which show the excellence of this Surah are :

1. From Abu Hurayrah (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) who reported that the Messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu alayhi wasallam) said:

‏ ‏إن سورة من القرآن ثلاثون آية شفعت لرجل حتى غفر له وهي سورة ‏‏ تبارك الذي بيده الملك) ‏

“The Qur’an contains a surah of thirty verses; which will intercede for a man until he is forgiven. It is the Surah: ‘Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the dominion,”   (Narrated by Imaam at-Tirmidhee. And Imaam Al-Albaanee authenticated it : 2315)

2. The Messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu alayhi wasallam) said:

” سورة تبارك هي المانعة من عذاب القبر ” .

“Surah al Mulk is a prevention of the punishment of the grave.”  (Silsilahahadeeth Saheeha:1140)

3. And it also narrated from Jaabir (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) : That The prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) never used to sleep until he recited: Soorah al-Mulk.   (Narrated by Imaam at-Tirmidhee. And Imaam Al-Albaanee authenticated it : 2315)

These noble ahadeeth show the great importance of this Surah; reciting it, memorizing it, understanding it, and most importantly putting it into action.

Hence we have seen the need of translating the interpretation of the meanings of this great Surah, so that those who read it can be in clarity regarding its meanings, and to have insight regarding its message, and to be facilitated into pondering over its meanings.

And from the most simple and relied upon books of tafseer; is this book we have taken from: the Tafseer of Imaam Abdurrahman ibn Sa’dee; famously known as Tafseer As-Sa’dee. Indeed its excellence has been recognized and testified to, and thus the scholars continue to point and guide people to it, so that they can benefit; and be upon clear insight in regards to the meanings of The Qur’an.

And from the methodology of his tafseer is that he takes a portion of verses which are close in meanings and he explains them one after the other, showing how they flow and have harmony; clearly giving meaning and lessons to every reader.
Then he takes another group of verses… and like this.
Hence this becomes more beneficial and easier for the reader.
And as such, you will see that we bring the texts of the Surah [a few verses which are numbered], and then after it comes the tafseer.

I have also added a few benefits from other books of tafseer so as to give the reader more clarity wherever needed.
And also all the footnotes are by the translator.

I ask Allaah by His Beautiful Names and His Exalted Attributes to grant us guidance of Islaam and the Sunnah upto the day He takes our souls, and We ask Him to make The Qur’an the light of our guidance, and the life of our hearts, and the guide of all of our affairs. We ask Him to make us among those who recite it exactly as it deserves, and to be those who act upon it just as it commands, and to be from those who stick and hold on to it, so that we can be from the people of The Qur’an ; The special ones in front of Him.
