From the Excellences of Salaat ‘ala an-Nabiyy ON FRIDAYS فضل الصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم :
” اللهم صل على محمد وعلى آل محمد كما صليت على إبراهيم وعلى آل إبراهيم إنك حميد مجيد “
Allaahumma swali ‘ala Muhammad wa ‘ala aali Muhammad….. to the end, which means: ‘O Allah mention Muhammad amongst those noble angels who around you, and raise him in status, and shower your mercy on him. And do so for his family (followers) as well, just as you did so for Ibraahim and his family (followers).’
1662- Anas (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) said: the Messenger of Allah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Increase in saying the salaat on me on Fridays, surely a few moments ago Jibreel came to me from The Lord The Majestic, and said: There is no human on the earth who says the salaat on you once; except that I and my angels will say the salaat on him ten times.” (Hasan Lighayrihi)
Narrated by at-Tabaraanee.
1672- Aboo Dardaa (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Increase in saying the salaat on me on Fridays, because it is a day which is witnessed; it is witnessed by the angels. There is none who says the salaat on me except that his salaat is conveyed to me; until he ceases.”
I said: ‘And after death!?’
He said: “Indeed Allah prohibited the earth from eating away the bodies of the Prophets sallahAllaahu alayhim wasallam” (Hasan Lighayrihi)
Narrated by Ibn Maajah with a good chain.
1673- Aboo Umaama (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Increase in saying the salaat on me on Fridays, indeed the salaat of my Ummaah to me are displayed to me every Friday, so whoever sends the salaat on me most; will be the closest to me in the stages [of paradise].” (Hasan Lighayrihi)
Narrated by al-Bayhaqee with a hasan chain.
1674- Aws ibn Aws (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) said: The Messenger of Allah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“The best of your days is Friday; In it Adam was created, and in it he passed away, and in it will be the blowing of the first horn, and in it is the second blowing of the horn: so increase in saying the salaat on me in it, indeed your salaat are displayed to me.”
They said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, how is that while you have decomposed and become dust!?’
So he said: “Indeed Allah The Mighty and Majestic prohibited the earth from eating away the bodies of the Prophets.” (Saheeh)
Narrated by Ahmad, Aboo Daawood, and Ibn Maajah with a good chain, and Ibn Hibbaan in his saheeh, and al-Haakim; and he authenticated it.
So does this mean the Prophet sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam can hear anyone in anypart of the world?
The answer is : NO. Only Allaah is The All-Hearing. And no one -not the Prophet or anyone else- shares with Allaah in His attributes!
So how do understand his (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) saying: “…increase in saying the salaat on me in it, indeed your salaat are displayed to me.”
He (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) clarified this in other ahadeeth, like:
1663- And it is narrated from Abu Umaama (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) who said: the Messenger of Allah (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Whoever says the salaat on me; Allah will say the salaat on him ten times, and He appoints an angel on it until he [the angel] conveys it to me.” (Hasan Lighayrihi)
Narrated by at-Tabaraanee.
1664- Abdullah ibn Mas’oud (radhiyaAllaahu anhu) reported that The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Surely Allah has angels who move around; they convey to me the salaam from my Ummah.” (Saheeh)
Narrated by an-Nasaa’ee and Ibn Hibbaan in his saheeh.
