Repent…Until When?

 

‘…And on this we see that the slave is ordered to repent every time he sins.

One of them [the Salaf] said to his Shaykh : ‘Surely I commit sins.’

So he [the shaykh] said : ‘Repent.’

He said : ‘Then I return [and do it again].’

So he [the shaykh] said : ‘Repent [again].’

He [the student again] said : ‘Then I return [and do it again].’

He [the shaykh] said : ‘Repent [again].’

So he [the student] said : ‘Upto when!?’

And he said : ‘Until you make the shaytaan sad.’
