Excellence of the Complete Form of Salaam:

Abu Umaamah (may Allaah be pleased with him) said:

‘A man came to The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) and said: ‘Assalaamu alaykum.’ So The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) replied his salaam, then the man sat, and The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “ten.”

Then another man came and said: ‘Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi.’ So The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) replied his salaam, then the man sat, and The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “twenty.”

Then another man came and said: ‘Assalaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wabarakatuhu.’ So The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) replied his salaam, then the man sat, and The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said: “thirty.”
