This is a continuation of the first post on The Best Investment.
The investment which are beneficial for YOU.
Based on the hadeeth:
“Surely from the things which ‘catch up’ with the believer –after his death- from his good deeds is:
– Knowledge which he taught and spread
– A Pious child he left
– A Mushaf which he bequeathed
– A Masjid which he built
– A house he built for the traveller
– A spring which channelled
– Charity which he gave out from his wealth –while he was alive and healthy:
The reward will be ascribed to him after his death.”
[Narrated by Ibn Maajah, al-Bayhaqee, al-Mundhiree said in Targheeb that it is hasan, likewise al-Albaani in Saheeh Targheeb: 77, 112]
These are more excellences of the seven great deeds, the great investments, which have the great excellence -that your account of hasanaat (good deeds) continues to grow even after your death-.
SubhanaAllaah these deeds have amazing and bountiful rewards in your life and after your death.
Here are some for each of them:
Knowledge which he taught and spread
1- Anas reported that The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Whoever taught some knowledge; will get the reward of the one who acted upon that knowledge, withoug reducing anything from the reward of the doer.” [saheeh targheeb: 80]
2- Abu Umaamah reported that The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“Surely Allaah and His angels and the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth -even the ant in it’s hole and even the fish- praise for the one who teaches good to the people.” [saheeh targheeb: 81]
3- And it was narrated by al-Bazzar in summary from the hadeeth of A’isha that he (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“The teacher of good, everything makes istighfaar [seeks forgiveness] for him; even the fish in the sea.” [saheeh targheeb: 82]
Imagine this great excellence, while you are alive, and of course when you die your rewards continue as the people act upon the knowledge you spread.
A Pious child he left
1- Anas reported that The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“In Paradise, a man will be raised above his degree, thus he will ask: ‘How did I achieve this?’ He will be answered: ‘Because of your child making istighfaar [seeking forgiveness] for you.” [saheeh al-Jaam’i: 80]
In his explanation al-Munnaawwi said: ”Because of your child making istighfaar [seeking forgiveness] for you”, i.e. after your death. This hadeeth shows that istighfaar wipes away sins and raises the degrees. And that it raises the degree of the one who is being sought forgiveness for to a status [degree] which his [other] actions dont reach him, now what about the person who is actually doing the istighfaar!? And if there wasn’t any excellence [benefit] in marriage other than this; surely it is enough.’
A Masjid he built
1- Uthman said: ‘I heard the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) saying:
“Whoever builds a Masjid seeking the Face of Allaah, Allaah will build him a house in Paradise like it.” [saheeh al-Bukhaari]
2- Jaabir reported that The Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) said:
“The one who builds a Masjid -for the sake of Allaah-, the size of bird’s nest or even smaller: Allaah will build him a house in Paradise.” [Sunan Ibn Maajah: 738, sheikh Albaani said it is saheeh]
Allaamah Mubarakpooree said in Tuhfatul Ahwadhee: ‘The scholars have two explanations about the statement: ‘…the size of bird’s nest or even smaller…’ One: That this is making the point by mentioning the extreme case, and this is what most scholars said. [The] Others said: it is on its apparent. And the meaning is that: if he expands the masjid when space is needed; and this space is equal to that size, or that a group of people participate/contribute in building a Masjid, thus the portion which each of them actually built is that size.
to be continued inshaAllaah
